Miura lowered engine oil sump
One of the common problems with a
Miura, when cornering and experiencing hi G forces, is sudden drop in
oil pressure brought about by a loss of suction supply by the engine
oil pump. The most common cure for this is a deeper sump and added
baffles.
shown above are the two factory versions of a Miura sump pan. Both
carry the same part number for some unkown reason, usually a revision
will naturally create a later part number. This is a factory lowered
sump for the Miura and would require a lowered suction pipe as well.
The Bob Wallace design for the Miura lowered sump was a much more complete version.
